You're not a ticket-doer — you're a builder. You'll work across the stack (Next.js frontend, Go services, Postgres), make architectural decisions, and ship product features that real compliance professionals use every day. This is a remote-first role. We have a small office in SF that some people use sometimes, but the team runs async-first with intentional sync time (one weekly all-hands, one team video sync, on-call rotation 1 week per quarter). ##### Responsibilities * Ship product features end-to-end — from product spec to deployed code in production * Own architecture decisions for your domain; you're expected to push back on bad ideas (including ours) * Review PRs for 1–2 other engineers; give real feedback, not rubber stamps * Participate in on-call rotation (1 week per quarter) — we have good runbooks and it's genuinely quiet * Mentor 1–2 junior engineers; not a management track, just technical guidance * Collaborate with product and design to shape what gets built, not just how Requirements What We Need ##### Required 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong production track record Required Strong TypeScript — you can write it cleanly, type it properly, and you have opinions about when generics are worth it Required At least 2 years of production Go, or an honest willingness to pick it up fast (we'll know in the technical screen) Required Experience with PostgreSQL at scale — schema design, query optimization, migrations without downtime Required You've shipped B2B products that real companies use and pay for — you know what "production quality" actually means Required ##### Nice to Have Fintech or compliance domain experience — you know what a KYC flow or AML report actually is Bonus Experience working in SOC 2 Type II environments — data handling requirements, audit logs, security controls Bonus Open source contributions — anything shipped that other people use Bonus Experience with Redis for caching, pub/sub, or rate limiting Bonus ##### Our Stack Next.js TypeScript Go PostgreSQL Redis AWS (ECS, RDS, S3) GitHub Actions Datadog Benefits & Process The Details ##### Benefits ⬟ 100% Health, Dental & Vision Full coverage for you. 75% covered for dependents. ⬟ $2,000 Annual Learning Budget Courses, conferences, books, certifications.
