#### Setup

Setup takes about five minutes. The filter is already inside the purifier, but it is sealed in a plastic bag that you must remove first.

1. 01
##### Choose a location
Put the purifier on a flat floor or low table in the room where you spend most time. Keep 30 cm (12 in) clear on all sides. Do not put it in a corner or behind furniture.
2. 02
##### Open the base
Turn the purifier upside down on a soft surface. Turn the base cover counterclockwise until the ▲ mark aligns with the unlock symbol, then lift it off.
3. 03
##### Remove the filter bag
Pull the filter out by its tab. Remove and discard the plastic bag. Put the filter back with the pull tab facing you. The purifier does not start if the bag is still on the filter.
4. 04
##### Lock the base
Align the ▲ marks on the base and the body. Turn the base clockwise until it clicks. Turn the purifier upright.
5. 05
##### Connect the power
Push the adapter plug fully into the DC input at the rear of the base 7. Connect the adapter to a 100–240 V wall outlet. The light ring flashes once.
6. 06
##### Turn it on
Touch the Power key. The light ring pulses white for about 30 seconds while the sensor warms up, then the purifier starts in Auto mode.
Tip: run the purifier on Turbo for 20 minutes the first time, to clear the room quickly.

#### App Pairing

Before you start

You need a phone with iOS 16 or Android 10 or later, Bluetooth turned on, and a **2.4 GHz** Wi-Fi network. The Aura 2 does not connect to 5 GHz-only networks. The purifier works fully without the app; the app adds schedules, history, and filter alerts.

Steps

1. 01
##### Install the app
Download **Brightwell Home** from the App Store or Google Play and create an account.
2. 02
##### Put the purifier in pairing mode
With the purifier on, touch and hold key B for 5 seconds. The Wi-Fi indicator H flashes fast.
3. 03
##### Add the device
In the app, tap \+ Add device. The app finds the Aura 2 by Bluetooth. Tap it to continue.
4. 04
##### Join your Wi-Fi network
Choose your 2.4 GHz network and enter the password. Pairing takes up to 60 seconds. Indicator H becomes steady.
5. 05
##### Register for the extended warranty
Enter the code from the warranty card to add a third year of coverage (see page 12).

07

#### Modes and Features

Auto

The sensor sets fan speed from the PM2.5 reading. Recommended for daily use.

Sleep

Fan speed 1, display and light ring off. 24 dB(A), quieter than a whisper.

Manual

You choose fan speed 1–4 with key C. The purifier holds the speed you set.

Turbo

Maximum airflow for 20 minutes, then returns to the previous mode.

Timer

Turns the purifier off after 2, 4, or 8 hours. The lit LED shows the time set.

Child Lock

Disables all keys. Hold G for 3 s to turn it on or off. Settings stay active.

TIP

Auto mode raises the fan one step when PM2.5 passes 12, 35, or 55 µg/m³, and lowers it after 3 minutes of cleaner air.

08

#### Filter Replacement

About the filter

The BW-F200 filter has three layers in one cylinder. Replace the whole filter when indicator D flashes red, normally every 6 to 12 months.

LAYER 1

Pre-filter

Fine nylon mesh. Catches hair, lint, and large dust. Vacuum it every 2 weeks.

LAYER 2

H13 HEPA

Captures 99.97% of particles of 0.3 µm, including pollen, smoke, and pet dander.

LAYER 3

Activated carbon

180 g of pelletized carbon. Absorbs cooking odors and VOCs.

Filter life

The purifier counts run time weighted by fan speed. At Speed 3 for 12 hours a day, the filter lasts about 12 months. Smoke, pets, or heavy cooking can shorten this to 6 months. The app shows remaining life as a percentage.

Procedure

1. 01
##### Disconnect the power
Turn the purifier off and remove the adapter plug from the base.
2. 02
##### Remove the base and old filter
Turn the purifier upside down and open the base counterclockwise. Lift the old filter out by its tab and put it in a bag to contain dust.
3. 03
##### Install the new filter
Remove the plastic bag from the new BW-F200 filter. Put it in with the pull tab facing out. Make sure it sits flat on the seal.
4. 04
##### Lock the base and reset
Lock the base, turn the purifier upright, and connect the power. Touch and hold key F for 5 seconds until indicator D turns off and you hear a beep.

CAUTION

Use only genuine Brightwell BW-F200 filters. Third-party filters may not seal correctly, which lets unfiltered air bypass the HEPA layer, and damage caused by them is not covered by the warranty.

09

#### Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular care keeps the sensor accurate and the airflow at full CADR. Always disconnect the power before you clean the purifier.

| Part | Frequency | Procedure | Use |
| ----------------------- | -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------ |
| Outer shell | Weekly | Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a cloth dampened with water and dry immediately. | Microfiber cloth |
| Air outlet grille | Every 2 weeks | Remove dust between the slats with a soft brush. | Soft brush |
| Pre-filter (layer 1) | Every 2 weeks | Remove the filter. Vacuum the outer mesh with a brush attachment. Do not wash. | Vacuum, brush tool |
| Air inlet perforations | Monthly | Vacuum the outer shell to clear dust from the holes. | Vacuum, brush tool |
| PM2.5 sensor | Every 2 months | Open the sensor cover on the right side. Clean the lens and air inlet with a dry cotton swab. | Dry cotton swab |
| Power adapter and cable | Every 3 months | Check for cuts, kinks, or heat damage. Stop using a damaged adapter. | Visual check |
| 3-in-1 filter | 6–12 months | Replace when indicator D flashes red. See section 08. | BW-F200 |

CAUTION

* Do not use solvents, alcohol, bleach, or abrasive cleaners on any part.
* Do not spray liquid onto the purifier or into the sensor.
* Do not wash the filter. Water destroys the HEPA and carbon layers.

##### Storage

To store the purifier for more than a month, clean it, remove the filter, and seal the filter in an airtight bag. Store the purifier upright in a dry place between 0 °C and 40 °C (32 °F and 104 °F). Put the filter back before the next use.

##### Software updates

When it is connected to the app, the purifier installs firmware updates automatically between 2:00 and 4:00 am. The light ring flashes white during an update. Do not disconnect the power.

#### Troubleshooting

Before you contact support, find the symptom below and try each solution in order.

| Problem | Possible cause | Solution |
| --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Purifier does not turn on | Adapter not fully connected, or outlet has no power | Push the plug fully into the DC input. Test the outlet with another device. |
| Purifier turns on, then stops after 3 seconds | Base not locked, or filter bag still on the filter | Open the base, remove the plastic bag, and lock the base until it clicks. |
| Weak airflow | Pre-filter clogged, or filter at end of life | Vacuum the pre-filter. If indicator D is amber or red, replace the filter. |
| Display shows “– –” for more than 1 minute | Sensor window blocked or dirty | Clean the sensor lens with a dry cotton swab (see section 09). |
| Light ring stays red when the air seems clean | Sensor dirty, or purifier near a kitchen or humidifier | Clean the sensor. Move the purifier 1.5 m from humidifiers and cooking areas. |
| Odor from the purifier | Carbon layer saturated | Replace the filter. A new filter can smell slightly for 24–48 hours. |
| Unusual noise or vibration | Uneven surface, or object in the inlet or outlet | Put the purifier on a flat, hard floor. Disconnect power and remove the object. |
| Filter indicator still on after replacement | Filter life not reset | Touch and hold key F for 5 seconds until you hear a beep. |
| App cannot find the purifier | Not in pairing mode, or phone Bluetooth off | Turn on Bluetooth. Hold key B for 5 s until indicator H flashes fast. Stay within 3 m. |
| Wi-Fi pairing fails | 5 GHz network, or wrong password | Choose a 2.4 GHz network. Check the password; it is case-sensitive. |
| Keys do not respond | Child Lock is on | Touch and hold key G for 3 seconds until the lock icon turns off. |
| Display is off but the fan runs | Sleep mode, or display set to off | Touch key G to turn the display on, or touch B to leave Sleep mode. |

RESET

To restore factory settings, touch and hold keys B and G together for 10 seconds. The light ring flashes three times. This clears Wi-Fi settings and schedules. The filter-life count is kept.

## Frequently asked questions

### What should a user manual include?

A user manual should include safety information, what is in the box, a labeled overview of the product, setup steps, how to use each feature, care and maintenance, a troubleshooting table, technical specifications, and warranty and support details. This template includes each section.

### How do I write a user manual for a product?

Write for a person who has the product in front of them. Use numbered steps with one action each, label every part on a diagram, put warnings before the step they apply to, and collect common problems in a table of problem, cause, and solution. Describe your product to the AI and it drafts each section in this format.

### What is the best format for a user manual?

PDF is the most common format. It prints well, keeps the layout of diagrams and tables, and customers can download it from your support page. Many companies print a short quick-start guide and keep the full manual as a PDF.

### Is this user manual template free?

Yes. You can customize the user manual template for free and download it as a print-ready PDF for any product, device, or piece of software.
