Impact Report
2025–26
A year of full boxes, open doors, and the neighbours who made both possible.
684 families · 212 volunteers
48,300 lb of food rescued
From the director
Dear friends & neighbours
11,412 meals.
Not one of them packed alone.
Last July we were a Saturday pantry with a borrowed van and a fridge that held about forty heads of lettuce. Twelve months later we have packed 11,412 meals and served 684 families. For the first time, when grocers called to offer fresh produce, we could say yes.
None of that is the work of a building or a budget. It is the work of 212 volunteers who gave 6,930 hours, many of them before sunrise. It is the grocers who let us rescue 48,300 pounds of good food. And it is you: the donors, congregations and local businesses who gave $186,400 this year.
The number that matters most to me is not in this report. It is the look on a parent’s face when the box has strawberries in it. Our new walk-in fridge made that possible, and you paid for it.
The pages that follow show where every meal and every dollar went. They also show what comes next: a second pantry day on Wednesdays, and a goal of 15,000 meals. We cannot do that alone, and we would not want to.
Thank you for showing up — on Saturdays, at the door, and in our mailbox.

The people behind the boxes
Marisol · Saturday crew lead · 3 years
“The line starts at eight. We start at six.”
Marisol first came to Harbor Lane to drop off a bag of cans. Three years later she runs the Saturday crew: twenty-odd volunteers, one long table and a plan written on the back of a delivery slip.
She knows which families need a box without pork, which kids will trade carrots for apples, and which grocers will call on Friday night with a surplus. New volunteers learn her one rule on their first shift.
“Pack every box like it’s going to your own mother’s kitchen.”

They remember I like the rye bread. It’s been a long time since anybody remembered what I like.

What changed this year
The fridge that changed the menu
Until this spring, we had to turn away fresh produce we could not keep cold. In April a new walk-in fridge, paid for out of the cold-storage budget, gave us room for greens, berries and milk.
Fresh food now goes out the same week it arrives. It is also why we are ready to open a second day.
Goal for 2026–27
15,000
meals packed — 3,588 more than this year.
This year: 11,412 76%
New pantry day
Wednesdays
A second weekly opening, so working families do not have to wait for Saturday.
What a gift does
$50
buys a week of groceries for a family of four, by our own estimate.
Three ways to help
_01_Give
A monthly gift of $50 keeps one family’s fridge stocked all year.
_02_Take a shift
Wednesday crews start in September. Three hours, no experience needed.
_03_Connect a grocer
Know a store with surplus? We collect it, cold, the same day.

Frequently asked questions
What is an impact report?
An impact report is a document a nonprofit sends to donors and supporters, usually once a year. It shows what the organization did with the money it raised: how many people it served, how funds were spent, and the stories behind the numbers.
How is an impact report different from an annual report?
They often cover the same year, but an impact report leans on stories and outcomes to show the human result of donations, while a formal annual report leans more on financial statements and governance. Many small nonprofits use the terms interchangeably.
What should an impact report include?
A good impact report includes a letter from a leader, the year's results in numbers, a clear breakdown of spending, a few real stories, ways supporters can keep helping, and recognition for donors and volunteers. This template has each section.
Is this impact report template free?
Yes. You can customize the impact report template for free and download it as a print-ready PDF for your donors and supporters.
